Biography

Thomas C. Kincaid, Jr. was born in West Texas and raised on the family ranch in southeastern Pecos County. He attended schools in the Fort Stockton school system graduating from Fort Stockton High School in 1969. Mr. Kincaid began his college career at Southwest Texas State University where he worked in a feedlot and managed service stations to help pay for his education. In 1972 he returned to Fort Stockton where he worked in the oil field and the construction industry while attending Sul Ross State University, earning a B.S. degree in Range Animal Science in 1974.
 
The Kincaid Family Mr. Kincaid married Dru Ivey in 1978. They have two sons who grew up attending Fort Stockton schools. Their oldest son Kyle, age 30, is a decorated Iraq war veteran who, after his discharge from active duty in the U.S. Army, settled in Fort Stockton with his wife and daughter. Their younger son James, age 26, also lives in Fort Stockton working in the water well industry.
Mr. Kincaid became a partner in the family ranching operation in 1978. He also operated a construction company in the Fort Stockton area for over twenty years until he became a licensed real estate appraiser. He has served the Pecos County Republican Party as precinct and county chairman. He has served on the Fort Stockton High School Campus improvement Committee and was a Cub Scout den leader. Mr. Kincaid is currently serving as chairman of the Rio Grande Advisory Committee in Fort Stockton.
 
Kincaid is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Along with his wife Dru, he taught the high school church school class and was a youth group sponsor at the Fort Stockton Presbyterian Church for several years. He is trained as a lay pastor by the Tres Rios Presbytery serving area churches as pulpit supply and has served on the Tres Rios Church Development Committee.
 
As a native West Texan and business man Mr. Kincaid intends to take his common sense knowledge and experience to state government. He is looking forward to being one of the West Texas voices in Austin.
